839 South Main Street in Wake Forest
Originally constructed in 1930, the home underwent a thoughtful renovation journey to transform into the vibrant commercial retail storefront it is today. Embracing sustainable building practices, we meticulously preserved the building's historic character while incorporating modern amenities.
Throughout the renovation process, a commitment to sustainability guided our decisions. Much of the lumber and construction materials were repurposed, breathing new life into existing resources. We took great care to preserve the natural beauty of the property, including a majestic 60-foot Willow Oak, symbolizing our reverence for this project. In keeping with our dedication to local craftsmanship, the outdoor sales area deck was crafted from reclaimed pine planks sourced from the historic Franklinton Cotton Mill, each plank boasting over a century of history. Furthermore, our landscape enhancements feature native tree and plant varieties, nurtured by local growers, ensuring harmony with the surrounding ecosystem. Inside the building, environmental consciousness remained a priority. Thoughtful design elements were implemented to minimize our ecological footprint, creating a space that is as sustainable as it is inviting. Among our innovative additions is a rainwater collection and storage system, serving the greenhouse and irrigation needs, while out back, the Bonsai Experience adds a touch of serenity to our outdoor oasis. Welcome to a space where history, sustainability, and community converge to create a truly unique and inspiring environment. |
